I was wondering if anyone would be interested in baking cakes for CDS (Center for Developmental Services) for Thursday, February 12th or Friday, February 13th. CDS helps kids who are behind due to autism, developmental delays, speech, & a million other things. Our little boy Jared was born with oral sensory dysfunction - he could not suck on a bottle - he would just fall asleep. CDS had OTs who met with me & taught exercises for Jared to help him develop normally; it made all the difference.

The cakes are a homemade whipping cream pound cake (yum-o) that is made in a bundt pan. It has to be homemade & follow the recipe that they send. If you can't make a cake, you could help by delivering them too. I can deliver the cakes to CDS on the 12th.

UW-Bake a Cake for Center for Developmental Services

Agency: Center for Development Services

Description: Each year around Valentine’s Day, we recruit volunteers to make home-made cakes for special delivery to some of out most generous donors. We expect to deliver over 75 cakes in 2009 and need lots of bakers to make it happen. WE provide the recipe and the cardboard cake round to put the cake on and ask that our volunteers donate the ingredients and the time to bake and/or deliver a cake. WE need to have the cakes brought to CDS on February 11th or 12th (preferably the 12th)). Our doors open at 7:45 am and we stay open until 5:45pm so cakes may be dropped off before or after work. If you’re not a Baker, you can still help! we need volunteers to help deliver the cakes to our donors the day before Valentine’s Day (since it falls on a Saturday).
